learning to paint at craftedu

So I said "you've been holding out on me!" And, she (Jeanne Harlan-Marriott) had. I happened to be cruising through the images posted on our community pages (you put images up on your personal page and it queues up in the slide show in the main page). I thought, "wow, Harlan's a photographer, too, cool!" I decided to examine the photographs more closely and, guess what, they're oil paintings! Yup, oil paintings - which led to "you've been holding out on me!"

So now, Harlan's working on her classes and someday, I may paint. I'll learn Trompe L'oeile and acrylics from Lauren (the incredible box from her Poker Box Class is pictured above - if there's any confusion about this, she teaches how to paint those cards and chips on that box, they're not glued on!) and I'll learn oils and nature themes from Harlan. I'm pretty excited about the whole thing. Excited? I guess it'd be more accurate to say I feel like my hair's on fire!

new classes from teresa sullivan and inger lutje maaike

Learn to needle felt and flat felt as you make this whimsical rock weighted mushroom. Inger's work is fanciful and fun!

Mushroom Class

Join Teresa Sullivan as she teaches you her lacy, but sturdy, single hexagon weave. She says it has a Goth flair and I think she's right but it's also elegant and versatile.

Have a great weekend everyone!

a beehive cat

How cute is this chub? Harlan calls him a Pratten - I think it's a fat cat. In any case, you'll have a chance to make him in Harlan's latest needle felting class the Beginner's Needle Felting Beehive Cat. You'll learn everything from density and surface patterning to make this little fellow.
